“My husband and I traveled with another couple in June 2012 to enjoy one of Daku Resort’s snorkeling holidays. It was a great vacation–better than advertised! Fiji was beautiful. The snorkeling arrangements were first class–we were in the water 6 out of 7 days. We saw a great variety of beautiful fish, and the coral was some of the best we’ve ever seen. The post-snorkeling excursions arranged by Daku were a treat–we particularly enjoyed the pearl farm tour and our visit to a traditional village (ladies, bring a long skirt to wear to the village).
The resort is perfectly located–beautiful views of the bay, but close enough to town that one can easily walk to shop, enjoy the market or grab a bite to eat. We stayed in a 2 bedroom bay view villa and it was perfect for the four of us. We particularly enjoyed drinking our morning coffee on the veranda while soaking up the beauty of the bay and the lush landscape. Meals were very good and we enjoyed the group dining–it was a great opportunity for conversation with people from all around the world.
The resort owners, the manager and the staff were all a delight–warm, friendly, accommodating, and efficient–a very rare combination.”

“We had a really amazing time. Beyond our expectations. We loved the simplicity of your resort and the fact that there were so many local people around. We felt part of Fiji which we were hoping it we would. Nothing was too much trouble and your staff were always friendly and calm. We were very comfortable in our spacious cottage.
Overall the snorkeling and the talks were highlights for us. George was very organised and attentive to our needs. We have dived in other oceans near to Africa and felt that it was a very unique and world class place, made more so by the company of the people that hosted us. Malawi is known as the warm heart of Africa and this was surely the warm heart of the Pacific.”

“I did a one week snorkeling course which included 6 guided snorkels, all meals, marine biology lectures and garden and waterfall excursions. Absolutely fabulous. Staff were wonderful, George our snorkel guide was great, snorkeling sites very good and varied with sharks, a couple of turtles and great corals and fish. You must do the Daku resort hike, i really loved the early morning in Daku rainforest under the huge green canopy.
The food was so much better than I expected and the chef adapted very well to my more difficult eating preferences, just tell them in advance what you don’t eat. Dinner was a 4 course event and my favourite was curry night. I loved the communal eating at dinner, meeting people from various parts of the world and their varied tales. It became a happy family. However its
also very easy to have private space and meals if you prefer.
Staff were fabulous, I loved the welcome and goodbye kava ceremonies.”
“Just spent two weeks again staying at Daku resort. Daku resort is in a great location short walk to town had a view of Savusavu Bay to die for and if your into yoga the Shala space certainly offers an inspiring view.

“We signed up for 2 weeks at Daku. The 1st week being an all inclusive snorkelling course through Paradise Courses, whilst the second week was unstructured. During the 1st week, Delia & George arranged various snorkelling experiences, talks by a local marine biologist, visits to a local village and a waterfall and a kava ceremony. The 2nd week we felt confident to revisit many of the snorkelling spot using local inexpensive taxis by ourselves. We were also offered additional experiences, such as a visit to a hot spring mud pool, at additional cost, which we found fantastic.
We found snorkelling around various Savusavu coral reefs amazing. We saw turtles, sharks many colourful fish and numerous other marine creatures.
A great experience at a wonderful location.”

“Daku has a laid back family vibe with the staff being some of the most beautiful people you could meet. The food was amazing! The snorkelling too! Saw two sharks and stunning fish of all descriptions . This venue is absolutely perfect for what it is set up for… lots of off the beaten trail holiday adventures to try… the accomodation ranges from basic single bures to the more upmarket pool villas. Dinner is a feast every night with Anna creating some of the most beautiful dishes we have ever had the pleasure to eat!
Daku gets in your heart and we will be back as soon as we can. A 3 star resort with a 5 star heart! Forget the generic type resorts on the main island. Head straight for Daku and all its hidden treasures!”
